my afternoon at kate's: a house tour

My dear friend Kate lives in the Pi-Ro (Pico-Robertson) district of LA in a gorgeous Spanish style duplex from the early 20th Century, and she invited me to lunch today. It was a beautiful sunny day and I told her I had to blog about it and give a house tour of her lovely home. Here it is.

The front of her duplex.

She made us a salad with fresh snipped dill.

and she whipped up a mushroom quiche.

Now, enough about the food. Here’s the house tour. Kate has effortless style and has filled her sunshine-y home with vintage global items she’s sourced from thrift shops and flea markets all over town.

Her kitchen is eclectic and fresh.

Don’t you wish the top of your fridge looked this cute?

A view into the small sitting room between the kitchen and living room.

A vintage lamp graces a living room table.

The painting in the living room was a $30 thrift shop find. So jealous!

The bathroom has gorgeous original vintage tile, and Kate’s masterful touch with accessories.

I love, love, love this Thai puppet.

and the colors she’s used!

Her bedroom features a vintage folding screen and tapestry.

The sitting room’s built-in looks fresh and vibrant with Kate’s colorful pottery collection gracing it.

The small deck overlooks a common patio.

A vintage print hangs in the kitchen.
