Getting Beachy-Boho in Culver City
Our client wanted a modern eclectic vibe reminiscent of Venice Beach in this Culver City new-build staging. Happy to comply, we pulled out warm textural elements and complemented them with hits of orange and a little plum. Of course, there’s our signature Mid Century modern base. But from there we went into some fresh coastal territory. West Elm’s Peggy sofa anchors the living room on her delicate legs. An Ellen Degeneres rug in neutral tones sets a comfy tone and an Eames molded wood coffee table takes center stage while two Acapulco chairs flank the back porch. All photography by Christopher Lee
Two Project 62 chairs (we call them French Modernist chairs for their decade-spanning style) fill out the living room. A bright Marimekko fabric canvas holds court atop the fireplace, and our favorite faux tree, a fiddle leaf fig, peeks out from the corner.
Eames-style molded plastic chairs around an IKEA DOCKSTA table atop a cowhide rug. It’s a tried-and-true recipe for dining room success. Just add a stack of plates, some interesting hand-thrown pottery and a couple of tropical leaves. Breakfast is served!
Who doesn’t want to wake up to a peacock chair in the corner? Sit here with a cup of coffee to start your day in this dreamy, beachy master bedroom. Want to catch the sun-rays on your private deck? We’ve got two comfy chairs ready for tanning or intimate sunset-viewing.
